Mary Ann Ulrich

 

Mary Ann Ulrich is Managing Partner and Founder of Convivium Partners, LLC, a professional consulting company specializing in Collaborative Partnering, Human Capital Solutions, and Professional Facilitation. Mary Ann’s professional experience includes the founding of Executive Coach Partnership, LLC, a professional coaching company, and Partner/Owner in D.S. Allen Associates, Inc., a nationally recognized executive search firm.  Previously, Mary Ann was the Director of Recruiting and Human Resources for the Technology Practice of KPMG Consulting (now Bearing Point) based in New York.  Her roles have included the recruitment and coaching of CEO’s, Boards, Executives, Partners, Senior Managers and Management teams.  Her professional background and experience incorporates a cross section of industry knowledge and functional expertise with an emphasis in Information Technology, High-Tech, Security, Communications, Pharmaceutical, Financial Services and Management Consulting both nationally and internationally.

Diarmid de Burgh-Milne

Diarmid is a lead development strategist for leadership, organizational, and behavioral development of alliances with JCP Consultancy, Ltd playing a key role in guiding and inspiring at all levels.  He has nine years of experience in strategic development of partnering and alliancing across a wide variety of international industry sectors, private and public, building on a successful career as a senior officer in the British Army.  Diarmid has led the successful Welsh Water AMP3 and AMP4 supply chain partnering/alliancing programs in Wales, U.K. (to learn more about this project click here).  He possesses a deep understanding of organizational effectiveness and the role that interpersonal relationships play in delivering commercial success.  He has a successful track record of facilitation and mentoring at the Board level in blue-chip companies and is a leader in Partnering for the Rail Industry, including the Kent Rail Partnership, Thameslink 2000, Great Western, High Output Track Renewals and Angle Trains.  Diarmid’s leadership the British Energy/BNFL (British Nuclear Fuels) Partnership program created major value add for both Companies.  He also led the British Energy procurement culture change and partnering development program and has facilitated the partnering programs at Shell, construction projects for J Sainsbury’s, Kier, Gleeson, Wilmott Dixon and partnering and negotiation for Firmenich (Perfumery, Flavors and Chemical), number one globally in perfumery.

Diarmid holds a BA (Hons) in French and Philosophy from Leeds University, is a Behavioral Analyst, a Civil Service Qualified Interpreter in French and Italian and Staff College British Army (Camberley) as well as Staff College Italian Army.

David Maxwell

David is highly experienced in quality and change management and one of the leading proponents of partnering in construction in the U.K., driving many improvements over the past seven years at JCP Consultancy, Ltd.  He has played a leading role in facilitating Welsh Water’s AMP2 and AMP3 capital alliance programs over the past seven years.  David possesses extensive skills in providing consultancy, facilitation and training services focusing on partnering, change management, total quality management and business excellence.  He is involved in all aspects and at all levels of the partnering support program in many major partnerships and alliances, running partnering start up workshops, review workshops and a range of developmental events which focus specifically on the behaviors, awareness and communication skills of all in the partnership. 

David is a consultant for the MTRC partnering program which includes the Penny’s Bay (Disneyland) railway, the Tung Chung Cable Car and played a key role on the Tseung Kwan O Line rail extension (Hong Kong) that included 28 projects for railway and station work, completed 4˝ months early with a savings of over $2.5 billion (click here for more information on the MTRC project).  Such a result demanded a very new approach to the management of the project, breaking many of the ‘sacred cows’ embedded in the organizational culture, leading people from all parties to behave differently.  He has also led partnering facilitation programs for Railtrack, Thames Link 2000, Sun Microsystems, BNFL Projects and many more construction related projects.  David has been a consultant to many international organizations for quality management, continuous improvement, change management and nuclear safety throughout the organization up to the Board level, including Eastern European, Russian and Chinese power utilities.

David holds a BTech (Hons) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Brunel University and is a member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, a lead assessor for the  EFQM Excellence Model and a behavioral analyst.                                                              

Malcolm Newman

Malcolm, of JCP Consultancy, Ltd., is a successful Leader, Senior Executive and Board member in the public sector for over 20 years.  He has worked closely with Politicians, Chief Executives and Managing Directors, Ministers and Government Departments, Regulators and many Voluntary organizations.  He has a proven record of achievements in the development of policy & strategy, the introduction and management of change, supervising management and implementation, the leadership and motivation of people, negotiations and consultations as well as Board level corporate governance, management and financial matters.  During the last seven years, Malcolm has gained considerable experience in strategic development of partnering and alliancing across a wide variety of industry sectors, national and international, private and public.  For example, Malcolm led the MTRC Project in Hong Kong, which has become a partnering flagship and an outstanding success story.

Malcolm possesses a real understanding of organizational effectiveness and the role that interpersonal relationships and collaborative working play in delivering business performance and results.  He has a successful track record of facilitation, coaching and mentoring at the Board level working with Top Teams, Organizational Culture Audits as well as working with organizational and individual trust and relationships risk.  He has extensive consultancy skills in working with Directors and Managers for developing and implementing cooperative and collaborative working relationships.  Malcolm provides direct support, coaching and mentoring to Managing Directors and Managers of a number of construction companies in helping them build and develop their businesses around the collaborative working principles.  Malcolm has led, developed and implemented the Partnering Certificate program for over 1,000 construction personnel from the Board Room to the construction site; designs and runs partnering start up workshops, review sessions and a range of relationship development events for construction companies.  He has facilitated extensive Partnering work in the Public Housing Construction Industry.

Malcolm is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance Accountants and is a Behavioral Analyst.

Simon Vaughan

Simon, also of JCP Consultancy, Ltd., is highly experienced in, and one of the leading advocates of, the development and implementation of partnering and collaborative relationships across the construction supply chain as well as the utilities, transport, and public services sectors.  He possesses extensive skills in providing consultancy, mentoring and facilitation within and among the supply chain, corporate strategy and project management areas particularly related to partnering and change management.  Simon has been a lead facilitation consultant for Tubelines station modernization alliance.  This is a $1 billion+, seven-year, station modernization alliance involving seven design and construction companies.  Simon is directly involved in establishing the Alliance Board and collaborative leadership competencies and an integral part of his work with Tubelines involved the development of collaborative and communication behaviors across cross-company and cross-functional teams, and cooperative culture across all alliance partners.

In conjunction with the U.K. Highways Agency, Simon worked to form integrated teams through a partnering framework on various major roads schemes in the U.K. and is currently involved in the $4 billion M1 Widening Project with Arups and the Highways Agency.  He has also acted as lead on the development and implementation of an Alliancing strategy with BNFL and its three global strategic partners to deliver a $3 billion, five year decommissioning and clean up program of capital work for BNFL against stringent environmental and regulatory criteria.  This also included assisting the client on the selection and integration of tier one and two suppliers, and gaining agreement on risk and gain sharing.  Simon has also worked with a variety of other clients from different sectors on major construction projects including the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, Dockland Light Railway, BAE systems Glasgow, and BCV Infraco.

Simon holds a MSc., Organization Development, with a focus on organizational change, behavioral and cultural change; is a registered Organization Development Consultant and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.
